I rode Greyhound busses a few times and finally concluded that I was better off hitchhiking. I have not found it necessary to do either since the late 1980s, and I’m glad. I have never gone to Raleigh by bus; I’ll make sure I never do that. While bus terminals in small places tend to be in places difficult to reach, the big-city ones typically put a person in a very rough neighborhood. I saw a Greyhound terminal in Saint Louis that had that same creepy feel to it, and the neighborhood looked even worse, so I didn’t go outside the creepy terminal. Fortunately, I was only there for a few hours.
